PowerTech II / PowerTech Vent Battery Cable

Please read this section in its entirety.
This is a special order item if used with the PowerTech Vent Power Center.
There are important government safety regulations that apply and must be observed.
This special cable can be used with the PowerTech II Power Center or the PowerTech Vent Power Center. The cable makes it possible
to connect either of the power centers directly to the wheelchair batteries instead of plugging into the wheelchair battery charger jack
located on the wheelchair. This "frees" up battery charging jack on the wheelchair. Therefore the user does not have to swap out the Power
Center cord and the battery charger cord when it's time to charge the wheelchair, allowing the user to charge the wheelchair while
simultaneously using the Power Centers. The end result is an unlimited amount of available power when the wheelchair is plugged
into its battery charger.

For Example: A person knows they are going to be at home. They are going to watch a movie on television. He decides this would
be a good time to charge his wheelchair. When he plugs his wheelchair in to be charged, he is basically plugging into an infinite
power source (the wall outlet). The wheelchair's battery charger will charge the wheelchair. This "free energy" will also be delivered
into the Power Centers. The Power Centers will take this "free energy" and supply controlled regulated safe power to whatever accessory
device he has connected. (Laptop Computers, MP3 Players, Ventilators, Etc.) When the movie is finished...the person can unplug and
be mobile again. The time spent watching the movie was not wasted. It was spent charging the wheelchair and the user was able to use
his accessory devices without draining the wheelchairs batteries. This configuration helps the person stay mobile for longer periods
of time. If you have any questions, please contact us.

Attention: Power Tech Vent Users carefully read the following information:

PowerTech Vent Power Center Users
(Life Support & Government Safety Regulations IEC 60601-1 - RPI Cord Disclaimer)
All wheelchairs are different. All battery chargers are different. The requirements and needs of the user are different. It is impossible
for Richardson Products, Inc. to determine an electrical characteristic known as leakage current due to variances in custom equipment.
Leakage current loops occur when the wheelchair battery charger is plugged into an ordinary 110VAC wall outlet. Leakage Current
Loops should be less than 500 Micro Amps according to government safety requirements EN60601-1 UL-2601-1
(The US version of IEC 60601-1) CSA C22 No. 601-1 (For Canada).

As stated previously, we cannot determine what leakage currents will be on your wheelchair. Most modern battery chargers will be under
the value required by the IEC60601-1. Richardson Products, Inc. recognizes that IEC60601-1 must be observed and agrees that your power
wheelchair and wheelchair battery charger should operate within the values required by IEC 60601-1. Richardson Products Inc. shall not be
held liable in the event that your combination of equipment does not meet government and international safety requirements set forth
by IEC60601-1 or any other safety regulation.
