HydroFlush Mini users can now empty their legbag without assistance. The HydroFlush Mini is so easy to use that anyone able to manipulate a wheelchair will be able to independently empty their own legbag. The HydroFlush Mini eliminates the need of a personal care attendant for the purpose of emptying a legbag. There are no limitations to the amount of liquids you can drink, because you control when your legbag empties.   How it works... 1. The user pushes the button located on the control box located in a convenient location on their wheelchair. 2. The legbag Solenoid Valve automatically opens (Only opens after a short time delay to prevent accidental release of urine) 3. Urine is emptied (outside or in a walk-in-shower) 4. The flow of urine can be stopped instantly (pressing button again) or will automatically shut itself off after programmed amount of time. 5. The user pulls away! (The legbag is now empty!)   Safety Note: There are many poorly designed legbag openers on the market today...these inferior products simply have an ordinary switch directly connected to the solenoid valve presenting a very dangerous overheating & safety hazard to the user! The HydroFlush Mini is the original and only legbag opener to use a state of the art microprocessor to control the opening and closing of the solenoid valve. Because our design uses a microprocessor and specialized electronic control circuitry we can constantly monitor the electrical condition of the solenoid valve. This means that the solendoid valve can never overheat and potentially harm the user. Richardson Products firmly believes that you should not have to sacrifice your safety for independence. Because your safety is our prime concern all of the products we manufacture are inherently safe to use and operate.   Other things to consider when purchasing an electronic legbag opener: We wanted you to know that there is another major benefit of using a HydroFlush Mini. Because we use a sophisticated microprocessor we send a special closing signal after the leg bag empties. This special electronic signal physically grinds up any sediment that is found in the urine passing through the solenoid valve. We have a patented legbag quick disconnect system included with every HydroFlush Mini. The quick disconnect system allows the user to be connected or disconnected to or from the HydroFlush/Wheelchair in less than 2 seconds! No other legbag opener on the market has this technology. As you already know, transferring in and out of the wheelchair is a very important issue to the user and to their personal attendant! The system will last for many years depending on the user's willingness to keep the solenoid valve clean. We have customers that have had the same solenoid valve for over 8 years and they still work like new. All solenoid valves are sensitive to debris (Especially Hair) found in liquids that pass through the valve assembly. If a small piece of debris gets trapped between the valve seat of the solenoid valve, the solenoid will drip very slowly. If the microprocessor grind routine does not eliminate this drip, it becomes necessary to manually clean the solenoid valve. If you have a solenoid that is dripping, take time and clean it...the valve will work like new. We have other customers that just replace their solenoid valve yearly. Each users body chemistry is different, so the amount of insoluble debris found in urine will vary with every person. We know from experience that even the most dirty solenoid valve can be made operational if time and care is taken to properly clean the valve assembly.
